The last Prince of Lampedusa 
Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa (1896 – 1957), Italian writer (novel Il Gattopardo, first published posthumously in 1958) lived in Stomersee - the Stāmeriena palace for a few years in the 1930s as he married the palace's owner Alexandra von Wolff-Stomersee (1894-1982) in 1932, a Baltic German noblewoman and a student of psychoanalysishttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexandra_von_Wolff-Stomersee

Edward Leedskalnin / Edvards Liedskalniņš

b. 1887 in Stāmeriena parish

Edward Leedskalnin (Latvian: Edvards Liedskalniņš) (1887 – 1951) was a self-taught engineer who single-handedly built the Coral Castle in Florida, added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Ferdinand Adolf Heinrich August Graf von Zeppelin (1838 – 1917) was a German general and later inventor of the Zeppelin rigid airships. On 7 August 1869 Ferdinand married Isabella Freiin von Wolff from the house of Alt-Schwanenburg (present day — Gulbene town in Latvia, then part of Livonia).
